Disciplines
The dogs are trained to search drowned people in the water. For this we use 2 methods.
On the bank:
The dogs search on the bank for human smells. If the dog has found a human smell he will indicate this to his boss. At that moment the boss will give a description of the point where his/her dog has found something to the person who leads the search operation. This person will notice this. When a second team also notifies at the same place a trace, this location is passed on to the proper authorities so they can follow this up.
| In a boat: |

The dogs will search for smells which rise up from the water. At the moment that the dog has found a human smell he will indicate this to his boss. A second team will search this place to get a confirmation. |
Our dogs can also look for persons in debris. This training starts from the moment the dogs are puppies so that they can bear the different undergrounds and the sharp grit. The dogs which are used for this discipline have to be calm so that the chance to get an injury is small.
With search on plains the dogs will search an area such as meadows or woods by walking left and right. The dogs aren’t searching for a human smell but they will sense all human smells. If they find a person who lies, sits or hangs they will let their boss know by barking while they’re standing with the victim.
